There Are Moments That Crack Us Open

Moments when truth doesn’t just land in our minds, it lands deep in our bones.

One of those moments came for me during the final ceremony of Ada Divine Awakening.

It was a warm day. Hundreds of us, men and women, stood face to face in concentric circles. Then, Dušan Kovačević, the founder of this beautiful gathering, stepped forward. He reminded us that at the root of so much of our modern struggle lies one deep imbalance: the growing disconnection between feminine and masculine energies.

And then, he asked us to sing:
“I love you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.”
Tears flowed, eyes locked. Some whispered, others sobbed. And in the rawness of that moment, something collective cracked open.

We weren’t just singing to each other. We were singing to the invisible wall that has been growing between feminine and masculine energies for generations.

A World Out of Balance

We see it everywhere. Women have taken on every role: nurturer, provider, protector, builder. Often not out of empowerment, but necessity. And men? Many are struggling with their place in this new reality, unsure how to show up, feeling unneeded or unseen.

This isn’t about blame. It’s about a deep, systemic disbalance. Yin (feminine energy) and yang (masculine energy) are not opposites, they are complements. And when they fall out of harmony, the impact ripples through our relationships, our families, our communities… and even our nervous systems.

An overwhelmed nervous system can’t differentiate between emotional disconnection and physical threat. When our inner yin-yang balance is off, we’re more likely to live in fight-or-flight mode, disconnected from our intuition, softness, purpose, and truth.

A Light to Rebalance Within

At SOMA, we’ve been witnessing how light, sound, and intention can help restore that delicate dance between yin and yang. One session in particular “Yin Yang” has become a powerful tool for many of our clients.

Using rhythmic frequencies and pulsing light patterns, this session supports the nervous system to reset and re-pattern. The brain is guided into a coherent state, balancing left (yang/logic) and right (yin/intuition) hemisphere activity. Studies in neurofeedback and entrainment show that hemispheric synchrony is associated with emotional regulation, creativity, and resilience (Siever, 2020; Travis & Lagopoulos, 2009).

Rather than aiming to “fix” one side, this session honors the truth: we are both. Soft and strong. Flowing and focused. Giving and receiving.

It Starts Inside

No healing between genders, societies, or cultures can happen unless we heal the energy battle within ourselves first.

The modern world asks us to over-perform, over-give, overthink. But our bodies long to come home to balance.

Whether you’re navigating grief, disconnection, anger, or numbness, remember: the return to balance starts by listening within.

Let the light guide you.
