Sexual energy is often misunderstood or reduced to physical intimacy. In reality, it is a vital force that powers creativity, emotional expression, intuition, and spiritual awakening. It is foundational to our vitality and sense of aliveness.
Ancient traditions like Tantra treat sexual energy as sacred, not something to be suppressed, but consciously channeled and refined. Tantric practices aim to circulate this energy through the body, fostering deep emotional presence, spiritual expansion, and physical well-being.
Modern research supports these insights. A 2024 study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine found that Tantric practices can help reduce anxiety and depression, improve emotional regulation, increase pleasure, and deepen intimacy. The study’s participants also reported increased body awareness and a heightened sense of self-connection.

Kundalini is often described as a dormant, coiled energy at the base of the spine. When activated, through breathwork, meditation, movement, or energy-based practices, it ascends through the body, awakening energy centers (chakras) along the way. This rising energy is said to promote deep emotional healing, spiritual insight, and heightened awareness.
While Kundalini itself is rooted in yogic tradition, modern neuroscience supports the idea that such practices can significantly alter brain activity.
